

Hythe Town Council Public Consultation – installation of a permanent beacon
Hythe Town Council are proposing to install a permanent beacon on Marine Parade CT21 (please see map below for exact location). The aim is for the beacon to be erected in time for this year’s VE Day celebrations on 8 May. Beacons are a traditional mark, lit for national celebrations, and form part of official programmes announced by Buckingham Palace for Commonwealth Capitals to take part in special ceremonies. Folkestone, Sandgate and New Romney already have permanent beacon

Hythe Community Orchard WASSAIL
WASSAIL - 7 FEB 3.30pm Wassailing an orchard is an old ceremony, still continuing today - particularly in areas where cider apples are grown - to bless the trees for future fruitfulness and to protect them from evil spirits that might harm them. We have our own Community Orchard on Eaton Lands, and will hold our Wassail on Saturday 7th Feb at 3.30pm. There will be music and a ceremony and you can join us!
