It was felt by many that Hythe needed a dedicated Tourist Information Centre (TIC) since the closure of the facility in Douglas Avenue some years ago had left visitors reliant on the library for leaflets on local attractions. Although not in the town centre, the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway (RHDR) station kindly offered to act as a TIC fully equipped to provide information to visitors arriving by car.
The Society worked with the RHDR and KCC to ensure that relevant signage was installed at suitable locations around the town.
