When Hythe in Bloom was set up in 2004, a number of concrete planters were put in place at suitable locations along the High Street. It was felt that the ones at the entrance to the High Street should be improved upon and thus two large, Hythe blue, cast iron planters were installed on the pavement there.
The Hythe in Bloom team planted them up and have continued to do so ever since. Today, each boasts a mature Cordyline in the centre with seasonal planting around the edges.
Together, they provide a colourful, welcoming display at the entrance to the High Street.
