Hythe Town Council Public Consultation – installation of a permanent beacon

Hythe Town Council are proposing to install a permanent beacon on Marine Parade CT21 (please see map below for exact location). The aim is for the beacon to be erected in time for this year’s VE Day celebrations on 8 May.

Beacons are a traditional mark, lit for national celebrations, and form part of official programmes announced by Buckingham Palace for Commonwealth Capitals to take part in special ceremonies. Folkestone, Sandgate and New Romney already have permanent beacons in place on their seafronts.

If you wish to make an objection or comment please put this in writing, to be received before Monday 16 February 2026.
