Operating under the auspices of Hythe Civic Society, Hythe in Bloom has been enhancing the town’s appearance since 2004, providing vibrant seasonal floral displays throughout Hythe. These include the tubs along the High Street and the railing-mounted troughs in Prospect Road, which together help create a colourful and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.
The High Street tubs have now been planted by volunteers and are once again overflowing with flowers. The Prospect Road troughs are also in place, ensuring that Hythe is ready for another spectacular summer display. This year’s multi-coloured planting scheme promises to be particularly eye-catching.
A dedicated team of volunteers – which includes pupils from Brockhill Park Performing Arts College and members of Hythe Scouts - will continue to care for the displays in the High Street throughout the season, undertaking the regular watering and maintenance needed to keep them looking their best. Thanks to their commitment and hard work, the town centre will remain vibrant and colourful well into the autumn.
The project continues to benefit from generous support from a range of organisations and businesses. Contributions in cash or kind have been received from Hythe Civic Society and Hythe Town Council. Commercial sponsors supporting the project this year include Lawrence and Co Estate Agents, Charlier Construction and - new for this year - H V Wooding Ltd, whose generosity is greatly appreciated.
