The Hythe Bailiffs held office from 1349 to 1574, with John Bridgman serving as the last Bailiff and becoming the first Mayor in 1575. A list of dates and mayors has been recorded from 1575 to the present day.
Special thanks to Terry Reene, the Town Sergeant and Mayor's Secretary, for taking the photographs of the mayors displayed on the walls of the Town Hall. Additional images and information have been gathered through research conducted by the Hythe Local History Group.
The below document contains a comprehensive listing of Mayors & Bailiffs from the 14th Century to today.
